Achieving a flawless vocal recording is a significant challenge often fraught with issues such as plosives, pops, and various forms of noise. The initial objective is to capture a dry vocal track that is as pristine as possible, eliminating subtle audio imperfections before delving into compression or reverb applications. Vocal Cleaner addresses these challenges by meticulously refining vocal recordings. It effectively manages harsh sibilance and intermittently removes undesirable noise through an intuitive interface featuring threshold sliders and Amount controls. This plugin serves as an essential first step in the vocal effects chain, streamlining the initial stages of vocal processing.

De-Noise

This feature utilizes an intelligent algorithm to distinguish between voice and ambient noise, enabling users to eliminate background hum, hiss, and other extraneous sounds. By adjusting the main fader and Amount controls, users can reduce noise to a manageable level without sacrificing vocal integrity.

De-Es

Sibilance, often generated by “sss” and “shh” sounds, can detract from recording quality and listener comfort. The De-Es component within Vocal Cleaner intelligently identifies these high-frequency issues and employs a dynamic EQ curve to minimize these artefacts.

Noise Gate

The Noise Gate feature establishes a minimum amplitude threshold that curtails quiet sections while allowing louder elements to pass through. This functionality is particularly useful for eliminating breath sounds and ambient noise. Users can fine-tune the effect via the Amount dial to maintain a natural auditory experience.

Bright, Natural & Dark

The signal algorithms are tailored for different audio characteristics. Users can choose from Bright for high-frequency noise, Dark for low-end disturbances, or Natural for a balanced processing effect, thus accommodating individual audio needs.

High / Low Filter & Presence

The high-pass and low-pass filters are effective for rolling off unwanted frequencies while achieving a balanced audio output. The Presence control enriches the mix by integrating saturation, compression, and EQ to enhance definition.

Bypass, Output & Master Mix

The bypass function optimizes A/B testing by minimizing clicks and pops, while the Output control allows users to blend the processed vocal signal with the original audio. The Master Mix ratio control further enables adjustments to the intensity of processing effects.

Visual Feedback

The interface includes live VU meters that provide real-time visual feedback on the signal as it undergoes various cleaning processes. This feature facilitates precise monitoring throughout each stage of the workflow.
